![]() ![]() But to predict how language might change in the future, you first have to look at how it’s changed in the past. While the English of 3023 likely will be unrecognizable from the English of 2023 (if it hasn’t died out entirely), it’s worth asking what it will look like, and why. The Wolves were warriors before they became soldiers. If the English language can change this much in a century, just imagine how much it’s going to change over the course of the next millennium. Then we skin the crippled remains, and offer it up as an example to any still bearing witness. But that isn't the quick execution the Emperor needs, is it? The Wolves go for the throat. Night after night, raid after raid, we'd overwhelm stragglers from their fleets and bleach their skulls to hang from our armour, until none remained. If we were ever ordered to assault another Legion, we would virus bomb their recruitment worlds slaughter their serfs and slaves poison their gene-seed repositories and spend the next dozen decades watching them die slow, humiliating deaths. If they were ever ordered to destroy another Legion, they would do it by hurling warrior against warrior, seeking to grind their enemies down with the admirable delusions of the 'noble savage'. They fight, they win, and they stalk back to their ships with their tails held high. They also kill quickly, and we have never done that, either. ![]() "Because the Wolves kill cleanly, and we do not. I'd love to actually use those I've converted and painted myself, it's still something, and why limit myself when I could play with anyone around the world? I know it doesn't have the same satisfaction of playing with actual models. I had a falling out with a friend of mine who I played regular Warhammer of all forms with, so I'm craving some dice rolling and maybe during this time a simulated format will just have to do I'm at the point now I'm playing Xcom 2 with Warhammer mods, which is a lot of fun btwīut I'm craving just a good old game of 40kĪnd with a lot of the local hobby stores closed now it's hard to find a proper game The thing is there's probably less competent PC Warhammer games, and I've played just about every good one. Playing an army I didn't personally paint doesn't have the same feel, but it's close enough. Personally, I find TTS to be faster and easier, but it doesn't have as much of the rewarding tactile sensation that 40k has. Digital resources are popular for codices too since they can be pulled up and browsed via a second monitor. Dice rollers that auto-roll and count drastically speed things up too. Pay2Win isn't a thing and EVERY army is painted. You can carry dozens of lists when it takes 30 seconds to pull up a list on battlescribe and load 2k points of models so power matching randoms is easier. Beer and pretzel games are even easier to arrange if neither of you have to drive or transport an army. Serious answer? A lot of the social aspect is still there in terms of playing a game with another human especially if you are using voice chat via discord. ![]() Seems like going out of your way to try to play a mediocre game.and now lacking the social and painted model aspects of it completely. Would be far easier to simply play a competent PC game, etc. ![]() If anyone fancies a game of X-Wing or Legion then feel free to flick me a PM and we can see if we can arrange something.Įlbows wrote: Honestly, as discussed in another thread.what's the purpose of playing a game of Warhammer via TTS? Warhammer isn't a particularly well written rule-set. Many/most games will have the ability to access the rules built in but it is far easier and quicker to check an actual source than it is in game. Moved this to general discussion as you ask about more than just 40k and that way everyone can join in!įor 40k I use this - id=1826518457&searchtext=warhammer%2040k&fbclid=IwAR1Zvd1Dfh6sUEyc2v2ZrFwdBPxIC0LQdIFy圓o7DVo_LRMgl5nCcAvnq6Iīut it is not the best and would love to hear if anyone has better options.įor FFG games the X-Wing Unified 2.0 module is fantastic, the Legion one gets a bit of getting used to and I have heard that the Armada one is good.įor any game I would highly recommend that one uses a mouse with wheel as it makes life so much easier, when playing games remember to "lock" things onto the table (hover cursor over it and press L) and have the rules for the game open next to you. ![]()
